da da da dock!

April 5, 2009

If you have recently paid a visit to the CFB Trenton Yacht Club you’d probably have noticed that there are some piles of pressure treated wood lying about.

Lots of piles…

and more piles all stacked neatly.

There’s also a pile of steel pipes and beams,

and cool things like this that you will see used later.

There’s also a few special people, including the designer of the system that will make up our NEW DOCK extension!

The wood forms sections for the main and finger docks

Big plastic flotation barrels are laid into position…

and then secured in place with huge rust proof bands.

The dock sections are then turned right side up…

and stacked out of the way for more work later.

The pipes that you saw above have been fixed into place – they stop the dock sections from twisting along their length.

And now with the deck on they really look like sections of dock. Just add water, sailboats and smiling people!

Visit again soon to see the progress!
